When Hearing the Gospel of the Lord’s Return, How Should We Treat It?

Question: We saw someone online testifying that the Lord Jesus has returned, so we told this good news to our pastor. The pastor told us, however, that any message online that says the Lord has returned is false, and he told us not to listen to sermons given by strangers so as to avoid going astray in our faith. We’re not sure what your views are on this issue, so please give us fellowship.

Answer: Hello! This is a crucial issue, as it directly relates to the important matter of whether or not we will be able to welcome the Lord’s return. Key to welcoming the Lord’s coming and investigating the true way is to seek God’s will. Think about it: Pastors and elders say that the gospel online preaching the Lord’s coming is false and that we shouldn’t listen to strangers’ sermons, but is there any basis for this in the Lord’s words? Concerning the return of the Lord, the Bible clearly states, “But of that day and hour knows no man, not the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but My Father only” (Mat 24:36). No one knows when the Lord will come, yet The Church of Almighty God is testifying that the Lord Jesus has already returned. How do you know this?

Can We Truly “Be Changed in the Twinkling of an Eye” and Raptured Into the Heavenly Kingdom?

The Bible says, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:52–53). Many people believe that although we still sin, God is almighty, and when the Lord comes again He will change us in the twinkling of an eye, changing the sinful into the sinless, and then rapturing us up into the kingdom of heaven. But is there any basis for this view in the Lord’s words? When the Lord comes again, will He really do as we imagine He will? How exactly does God perform His work to purify man in the last days? These questions are directly linked to the crucial issues of our fate and our final end. We will fellowship this matter below.

Revelation 3:11 says, the Lord said: “Behold, I come quickly….” Many brothers and sisters in the Lord read this verse and believe that when the Lord returns, He shall still descend among His sincere believers in the image and clothes of a Jew because He ascended to heaven in a Jewish image. Just as the Bible says: “You men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11). We have waited for so many years, and now in the last days, prophecies of the return of the Lord have come true. However, none of us see the Lord Jesus arrive among us in the image of a Jew. In 1994, I was born in the United States. My parents are both Chinese. My mother was the classic example of a successful career woman. She is able to think for herself and is very competent. I love my mother very much. When I was in Grade 2, my parents brought me back to China to study so that I would be able to learn Chinese. It was also at that time that I started to get acquainted with the Lord Jesus. I remember one day in 2004, after I got home from school, there was a guest at our house. But will He rapture us straight up when He returns, as we imagine? It was only through a period of time of seeking that I found the right answer and understood what the “rapture” really refers to, and then welcomed the Lord’s return.
