What Is God’s Salvation?

God’s salvation is different from man saving each other; it’s not the financial relief given to the poor by the rich, it’s not the saving of the dying and the treating of the wounded performed on patients by doctors, and it’s not the deeds of charitable organizations or philanthropists. God’s salvation is prepared for the sake of saving man’s degenerate souls, and the entirety of His salvation contains the truth, the way and the life. After we attain salvation, there is no longer any more pain, tears or sorrow, nor any more feelings of helplessness in our families, our studies, our work and our lives, and our lives become filled with light and happiness; we live with more purpose and meaning, and we live within the promises and blessings of God.

Since I was little, I believed in the Lord Jesus with my mother. From then on, my mother would take me to church with her regardless of wind, rain or snow. And the Lord bestowed abundant grace on us. After I got married, I continued to go to church as before.

One day, when I called my mother, she told me: “The Lord Jesus has returned! I have read a lot of words of Almighty God, I am sure that Almighty God is indeed the returned Lord Jesus! I am an educational worker and a Christian. Every Lord’s day, my family and I would go to church. At meetings, I often heard the pastor say, “‘All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness’ (2 Timothy 3:16). Since we believe in God, we should read the Bible, obey the Lord’s instructions in it and become a person approved by the Lord. Besides, the Bible can supply us with life.

Why Does God’s Name Change?

In 1998, I began to believe in the Lord Jesus because of an illness. After I started to believe in the Lord and go to church, our pastors and elders often preached to us, “Neither is there salvation in any other” (Acts 4:12). “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8). They also told us that only by keeping the name of the Lord Jesus and praying to His name at all times could we gain salvation and enter the kingdom of heaven when the Lord returned.

Revealing the Mystery: The Significance of God’s Name

When I was in high school, there was a Christian student fellowship in my school, and every week they organized a church activity. Once my teacher invited me to join them. After attending the activity several times, I was moved by the Lord’s love. And one year later, I received baptism and formally turned to the Lord. Then I preached the gospel of Jesus Christ to my relatives and friends. And some of them came under the name of the Lord as well. In the Lord Jesus’ warm loving bosom, I enjoyed His abundant grace. I often read the Bible and prayed, and participated in the church service. So far, I have believed in the Lord for 35 years.

I was an ordinary believer in the Three-Self Church. One night, walking on the street, I saw that the police had mobilized in force—over ten policemen and some armed police officers in three police cars—to arrest several Christians in our village. At the sight of this, my heart couldn’t calm down for quite a long time. The next morning when I went for a walk alone in a park on the edge of my village, I was thinking about this matter when I happened to meet an old sister, Li Qing. Not until we talked about this matter did I find out that those arrested Christians were believers in Eastern Lightning. I was afraid, and thought that it was fortunate I didn’t believe in Eastern Lightning, otherwise I would also be in danger of being arrested.
