Will the Lord Still Be Called Jesus When He Returns?

As believers in the Lord, we all know that God’s name is Jehovah in the Old Testament, and Jesus in the New Testament. We also know that the Lord once prophesied that He will come again in the last days. So here is a question: Will the Lord still be called Jesus when He returns? I believe most brothers and sisters will answer yes, because it is said in the Bible, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8), and “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). On the basis of these verses, we think God’s name will never change and the Lord will still be called Jesus when He comes again. But is this view correct?

Chen Jiajia: Every time I watch this film, I can’t help but be overcome with emotion. The Jewish chief priests and scribes had served God in the temple for many generations, and had been waiting for the coming of the Messiah, but when the Lord Jesus came to do His work, they were actually unable to recognize that He was the coming Messiah foretold in the prophecies, and even nailed Him to the cross.

When God carries out His work, He comes not to engage in any building or movements, but to fulfill His ministry. Each time He becomes flesh, it is only to accomplish a stage of work and to launch a new age. Now the Age of Kingdom has arrived, as has the training of the kingdom. This stage of work is not the work of man, and it is not to work man to a particular degree, but is only to complete a portion of God’s work. Revelation 3:11 says: “Behold, I come quickly….” Many brothers and sisters in the Lord read this verse and believe that when the Lord returns, He shall still descend among His sincere believers in the image and clothes of a Jew because He ascended to heaven in a Jewish image.
